The Campaign to Free The Pendleton 2 with Too Black

Podcaster, poet, author and organiser, Too Black, from one of my favourite podcasts, The Black Myths Podcast, joined me to talk about the documentary, ‘The Pendleton 2: They Stood Up’ and the Defence Committee to Free the Pendleton 2.

The Pendleton 2 are John “Balagoon” Cole & Christopher “Naeem” Trotter. They saved a man’s life from a KKK-affiliated prison guard gang and were sentenced to 84 & 142 years in prison for it.

We spoke about their story, how the documentary got made, about the the themes of collective care foreground in the movie, and how to build transnational solidarity between people fighting against the carceral system.
